Team Retreat

Hi Guys,

In preparation for our semi-finals, coach is proposing that we spend the weekend of 23-24 Feb in Johor for a team retreat.

From last year's showing at the semi-finals, it was observed that the 6 week break between the group stages and the knock-out rounds proved detrimental to form and fitness. To prevent the same occurrence, coach suggests that we have a short boot camp prior to the semi-finals to re-ignite our team spirit before we approach the last leg of the tournament.

The plan is to go up to Johor for a couple of friendly matches, a training session and a hearty team meal within the first weekend of the mid-semester break. This will require one night away from home and a little money. Exact details will be revealed in the coming weeks, but this is the tentative plan.

I hope to receive plenty of feedback. Please be candid so that we can see judge the feasibility of the idea. While it is important that we bond as a team and re-organise ourselves to peak at the right time, I understand that each of you may have personal concerns which are of equal significance. So do not be afraid to speak your mind.

Thanks and here's to qualifying from the group stage with a game in hand :)

Chris

fxk: honestly, i don't mind anything. money is not the issue here. but seriously, i think camping together in NUS e.g. mpsh would also be a feasible idea for bonding and stuff. and we can play capture the flag at botanic gardens!!! then we can organise friendlies against all the prime league teams so that we'd be playing similar opposition in the semis...

The dynamics of going overseas is different than staying in Singapore. There's just something about going away which refreshes one.

cmon la guys! GO LEH!!! let me have one more NUS trip before i graduate.

Honestly, camping in NUS is not fun because i tried before with the AUG team. We slept on tatami mats in the MPSH and woke up with backaches.

If u like this kind of fun slping on the floor with sleeping bags, towels as your pillows and an extra jersey as your blanket.... then might as well volunteer yourself for reservist?

Listen to the old and wise one. Just say yes la...
