NUS 1-0 SIM

NUS brought the defending SUNIG champions' reign to an end with a 1-0 defeat on home soil.

Both teams started in a tentative manner, with neither side being able to play as fluidly as they would probably have wanted. The bumpy ground and steely defences on both sides probably attributed to the cagey start to the game.

Although Eetu's physical presence in attack proved a handful to the SIM defence, NUS had to settle for an even scoreline as both sides headed to the break.

In the second half, Coach Arasu made several changes to the NUS lineup to further threaten the visiting side. With Elfi's speedy runs, Muhadher's incisive passing and Rama's oversized shorts, NUS pinned SIM back for most of the second half.

As Frederik was brought further upfield in search of the much needed goal, SIM finally gave way. The Big Dane found himself wide on the right flank as he swung a dangerous ball into the penalty box. With the goalkeeper and defence beaten to the precise cross, Rama's excellent positioning found him at the end of the decisive attack.
