I'm not sure what the thing is called officially, some Asia Pac thing. Anyway...
The latest update is that because of the Olympics, the Beijing officials have decided to prohibit other sporting events from happening in 2008. Presumably their resources are tied up, and perhaps also because they're worried of the negative downsteam effects the Olympics might have on other similar activities.
It will probably be re-scheduled to the summer of 2009.
