Rise of the New Fashion Star

They say good things come in pairs and it cant be more true.

Just last week, Christopher Kang was just a normal NUS law undergraduate, playing his heart out for the NUS soccer team. Fast forward to today, not only has he bagged himself the “Biggest Tagboard Impersonator” Award, he has finally made a name for himself in the fashion arena. He features on the front cover in this month’s issue of Vogue, which some has described as the "world’s most influential fashion magazine". The magazine has since hit the stands and many worldwide are now paying much attention to this newest fashion icon.

And the racsO Awards goes to….

Christopher Kang, of the Law Faculty of the National University of Singapore (NUS).

After a week long of voting, Christopher has defied the odds and finally emerged victorious in the polls, for being the biggest impersonator on the tagboard. But it was never going to be an easy win from the start. Although he shrugged off competitors from other parts of Singapore with ease, he had to contend with competition from Mark and Wincent (from the School of Business) and had to fight off strong challenges from close quarters, fellow lawyer flo-jo. He even had to endure a nervy ending, following intense pressure from close competitor Chengwei, who made sure the race, went right down to the wire. However, he eventually beat the future Galáctico, to be awarded the biggest prize of the year.

Our reporters speak to Christoper, also affectionately known as Chris “the liar” kang, backstage in an exclusive interview after he had received the prestigious award.

reporter (R): How do you feel? You must be excited!

Christopher Kang (CK): I must admit, it’s a nice feeling, winning this.. especially in recent times with a certain Ah Beng hogging all the headlines.

R: Do you mean Chengwei, the fashionista?

CK: Yeah, he’s been in the limelight for awhile now, and I have absolutely no idea why anyone would fancy him. I mean, my brand of underwear cost even more than those awful, awful clothes he has on him on that magazine of yours! Yeah! it’s your magazine! how did he ever made it to the front page? Now, Real Madrid is after him, not me!

R: because… because.. he introduces us to a lot of pretty girls? he knows a lot of them u know.. even as an ex prom king, I don’t know as many..

CK: Oh yeah?! bring him on! I have more pretty girl friends than the number of stepovers he has ever done in his whole life. Make that number of stepovers plus oles!

R: cool it~ this is supposed to be the biggest night for you~ why do you think you were voted the biggest impersonator of the year?

CK: (beams again) Well, I don’t know.. it can be anything, my suave good looks, my humor, my wit, my penchant for sliding on the field.. or even maybe because I have the ability to talk cock all the time....

R: One last question. What are your plans from now on?

CK: That was what’s going on my mind a moment ago. I am going to continue impersonating people, even people who never post a single thing like Azfar. I figured, Im sooooo good no one will ever find out it’s actually me who is the imposter.

R : Thank you so much for this interview..
*turns his back and starts to leave*

CK: hey, im not done yet.. you know what? I’m aiming to become the biggest fashion icon in the whole of Singapore, and then the world. And I will go to Manchester Utd, who gives a damn about Real…………….
